無事に開催されることを願っています！
大きな声で笑ったり、親しい友とじっくりと語り合ったり、みんなでお酒を飲みながら励まし合った日々が懐かしい状況になってきました。
工芸科は、新コロナの大きな障害の中、規制はありましたが６月から対面授業を開始しました。制作時間が圧倒的に足りない中で、みんな工夫して卒業制作・修了制作に取り組んでいます。（2020 10月現在）
この制約の中で一体何ができるのだろうかと自問自答しながら、少しずつ足場を固め、今やっと完成のアウトラインが見えてきた段階にきていると思います。
今回の展示では、この状況下でどこまで打ち込めたか、やり切れたか言い訳はせず自信を持って発表できることを期待しています。

Prayers for the Safe Presentation of Our Exhibitions!
With the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic, treasured experiences like sharing time, conversation, laughter and thoughts and drinks with dear friends and other joys previously taken for granted seem like nostalgic memories now.
The Department of Crafts instituted restrictions early on to cope with the rapid spread of the virus. We resumed in-person classes from June, but students faced a severe shortage in the time needed to complete their works. Even as I compose these comments in October, every student is doing everything possible to prepare for this year’s graduation and completion works exhibitions.
The intense energies our students have mustered in pondering what they can achieve within the scope of these strict constraints have been deeply moving to me. I believe that such devotion has enabled them to secure firm footholds in their respective journeys, bringing them to the final stage of visualizing clear-cut outlines to complete their quests.
Based on such observations, I have high expectations that all our students will present exhibition works steeped in exemplary confidence and vision. I likewise feel confident that these creations will be free of any excuses or justifications linked to the limitations the current unprecedented situation have imposed upon their time and energy.
Other than that, I ask only that you take time to closely contemplate the works our students have worked so hard on for this occasion.
