油画Oil Painting

♪ 古い船を今動かすのは古い水夫じゃないだろう！

油画科っていうのは”油画”と言ってるが油絵を描いてる学生はほとんどいない。
普通の感覚を持ってる人間なら”これがどうして油画科の卒業制作なの？”と思うだろう。
そりゃそうだ。外に”油画”って看板出してんだからな。油絵を勉強する科だと思うのが当たり前だ。
最初の間違いは”お殿様これが南蛮渡来の油絵というものでござる”って始まったんだろうけど…
そもそも油画なんてもんはどこにも無いんだよ。
描画材料のところにオイル、キャンバスと記すだけの言葉だ。
油画科の教員も学生もたぶん皆んな”油画”という名称が可笑しいと思ってる。
誰もがおかしいと思ってんのになぜか変わらない。議論(？)だけを永遠にやってる…
古い看板を変えるには古いストラクチャーを変えないといけないからだ。

“ふざけんなよ！変えりゃいいじゃん！違うんだから。おかしいし外に説明出来ないんだから！” ですよねえ”って笑って誤魔化してるだけが能じゃねえんだよ。嫌だ吐き気する！どの路もうやってけなくなってんだよ。バイバイ”
火の手はここまで来てるんだ。

そういう火の手をあちこちであげてる、止められない若さ！新しい海に漕ぎ出す学生たちの作品を見てください。

♪ It’s not old sailors who command old ships setting sail today!

Although it is called the Oil Painting Department there aren’t many students who are oil painting.
A normal person may look at this graduate exhibition and think, “How is this the graduation work of a student in the Oil Painting Department?”
It makes sense. Our sign says “oil painting,” so the first thought should be that it is a department where students study oil painting.
The first mistake was probably ancient Japanese people mistakenly telling others that all Western art was oil painting.
In reality, oil painting is just one form of Western art where oil paint is used to draw on a canvas.
The professors and students in the Oil Painting Department all probably think the name of the department is misleading, and it should be called the Western Art Department.
Everyone thinks it’s misleading but it doesn’t change. Only the discussion continues…
This is because the old structure has to change to change old signs.

“That’s just wrong! Just change it! It makes no sense and it’s difficult explaining to people! You can’t just laugh and say ‘You’re right!’ We need to walk a new path!”
These are just some of the opinions we hear.

The flames of change are already upon us. You cannot stop youth. See the works of the students who are sailing towards new seas.
