卒業・修了展によせてUpon Our Graduation and Completion Works Exhibitions

English　東京藝術大学美術学部の卒業・修了制作展では、例年、極めて多種多様な作品や論文をみることができます。
　今回出展した学生は、コロナ禍やロシアによるウクライナ侵攻などがもたらした重苦しいこの数年の社会情勢の中、アトリエなどの学内施設の使用が断続的に制限された学年に相当しています。必ずしも恵まれていたとは言い難いこうした環境の中で、思考と制作に長い時間とエネルギーを費やしたその成果が、この多種多様な作品や論文に投影されています。
　ただし、費やした長い時間とエネルギーが満足いく成果に繋がったと、自信を持って言い切れる学生はほんの一握りで、多くは不完全燃焼のまま終えたという実感ではないでしょうか。今の状況や自分自身に不満を持ち、また他者からの評価にも納得出来ない鬱屈した想いを抱えた人の方が、ずっと多いのではないかと思います。思い返してみると、35年前、卒業制作を提出した直後の私もそうした想いを抱いていました。
　しかし、自己評価はどうあれ、卒業・修了制作を通じて、得られたものは大きいと思います。全員が階段を一段登ったことは間違いなく、この展覧会が今後の飛躍のジャンプ台としての役割を果たすものと信じています。

These graduation and completion works showcase the powerful progress our students have made.

Fourth-year undergraduate students devoted immense energies to their self-portraits and trial versions of graduation works, used summer vacations to delve into specific fields of interest, and created their first full-scale creations over the last six months.

Master’s program students rose to the task of transforming the experiences they reaped from graduation works into their next stage of growth in just two years.

These works serve as cornerstones for new departures and directions and have rich potential. Their renewed efforts and diligent studies instill greater depth in each student’s artistic activities, setting the stage for even more stunning personal achievements.
